Colorado Joins Push to Clean Up Voter Rolls

02/14/2012 - Colorado will join seven other states in a new initiative aimed at identifying voters who move across state lines—an effort Secretary of State Scott Gessler said will help clean up voter rolls and could lead to the largest voter-registration drive in state history.
The program is organized by the Pew Center on the States, which issued a report saying about 24 million, or 1 in 8 active voter registrations in the United States, are "significantly inaccurate or no longer valid."
About 12 million records have incorrect addresses, and more than 2.7 million people are registered in more than one state, according to the study.
