Health Affairs: Foundation Funding To Study and Improve Medicaid

In early 2013 the State Health Care Spending Project, a joint effort by the Pew Charitable Trusts and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, launched an online database to inform policy makers of the steps that states are taking to address Medicaid fraud and abuse. Although not comprehensive, the database (http://www.pewstates.org/Medicaid-fraud) brings together “hundreds of anti-abuse practices” around the country “that have been found to be promising by state and federal Medicaid agencies”—specifically, those that are highlighted in CMS state program integrity reports.
