Prison Reform Expert Crunches Numbers to Help Pennsylvania Cut Its $1.86 Billion Inmate Costs

The architect of prison reform in Texas has crunched the numbers for Pennsylvania and will be presenting policy suggestions next month to Gov. Tom Corbett’s Justice Reinvestment Working Group.
Tony Fabelo said his four-month in-depth analysis was the fastest he’d ever done. Corbett asked him to accelerate the normal process to have policy recommendations by the end of May.
“What we have promised to do, we have done,” Fabelo told members of the group last week.
